Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, who gave her name to the liner, was told in advance about the sale. Under the terms of a tightly-worded contract the liner will drop its Queen prefix and be simply known as Elizabeth. Mr. John Whitworth, Cunard managing director, explained that this was out of deference to the Queen. The three American businessman said they were quite happy with that arrangement. The three American syndicate is Mr. Charles F. Williard, 58, president of one of the largest mechanical and electrical contractors in the United States, Mr. Stanton R.
