The famous baroque church of St. Coloman located in a field just outside the village of Schwangau has been the destination of great pilgrimages since the 15th century. According to the legend, Coloman would have been resting, preaching and even pasturing cattle in Schwanengau during a pilgrimage he made from his home country of Ireland to Jerusalem. Still today pilgrims to St.Colman pray for human & animal health and the protection from floods & storms.
