Detroit, Michigan USA - 12 September 2017 - As the new Little Caesars sports/concert arena opened, people protested the selection of Kid Rock for the arena's inaugural concert. The singer has displayed the Confederate flag at some of his past concerts; protesters felt that was not an appropriate message for the arena, which was partially paid for with taxpayer dollars. Besides concerts, the arena will house the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Pistons teams.
