English Landscape Capriccio with a Column painted by the Venetian painter Giovanni Antonio Canal, commonly known as Canaletto, in c. 1754. Canaletto specialised in realsitic city scenes (called Verduti) but occasionally he painted from his imagination, which he called Capriccio.
