A score board for a festive target competition, Southern German, circa 1840. A wooden, vertical frame with an elaborate iron mechanism for indicating scores. Different score indicators may be released by cord or by hand, on the bottom of the frame, to display the Roman numerals I - III, in order. After reaching a certain score or hitting a special target, a painted figure (Casper) also appears and a percussion-ignited salute is fired at the same time. Height 83 cm.
