Typical Colonial kitchen items are set up in a room depicting the daily life of Colonial settlers at the Fort of Colonial Mobile, Aug. 24, 2017, in Mobile, Alabama. French settlers built the fort in 1723 to protect the city from British and Spanish invaders. Much of the original fort is gone, but the replica fort was opened in 1976 as part of the nation’s bicentennial celebration. About one-third of the Fort was reconstructed at a four-fifths scale.(Photo by Carmen K. Sisson/Cloudybright)
